The Seibert Genealogy & Research Library

About the Seibert Genealogy & Research Library

Seibert Genealogy volunteer Al Conrad helps a visitor with research.

Founded by Ruth Seibert, the Seibert Genealogy Library and Resource Center allows museum members and guests to research and enjoy all aspects of Elizabethtown’s rich past. From family records, tax & business records, and recorded memories, to maps, published articles, photographs, and deeds, there is a treasure trove of unique information available within these walls.

Research is available at no extra cost for Heritage House members at all levels. For non-members, a $5 research fee is suggested.

How to Use the Library

  • The library is open during museum hours but please call ahead to make a reservation for your research, as our librarians are all volunteers.
  • Bring along as much information on your research subject, as you can.
  • A librarian will be on hand to assist your search using online, in-house database, and physical records resources.
  • We request a $5/day research fee to support the Seibert Library.  (Museum members have free use.) This fee helps support the purchase of the necessary programs that help expand your research beyond what is available on site.
  • You may also phone or email us a research request. The same fees apply.
