Due to the historic architecture, providing accessibility does prevent some challenges. We do have an accessible entry to the 1812 room, with a small door threshold to navigate. A portable ramp is available upon request. Please call from your car or ring the bell at the front door for assistance.
Note, there are minimal interior steps connecting the three different buildings. Thus, experiencing the entire building will require exiting and re-entering from another doorway.
For families with strollers. Due to the narrow architecture and the interior stairs betweeen the buildings, we ask, if able, to please park your stroller outside. There is room by the porch out back if you are not comfortable leaving it on the sidewalk.
Unless otherwise stated, photography and videography is permitted. If sharing on social media, please consider tagging us. Social media links are located at the bottom of the website.
If taking photographs or videos of docents, volunteers, or staff, please be respectful and ask for their permission to photograph them, especially if you intend to share on social media.
Due to the nature of the museum, many exhibit items are out on display and not behind a glass case. Unless stated otherwise, please refrain from touching the artifacts on display. Many of these items are borrowed from local community members, and we want to return them in the same condition we received them.
There is generally a dedicated area for interactive activities/arts & crafts. Please supervise your children if they choose to participate.
